Aidan Black-Allen

As the third of five children, Aidan learned from an early age she would have to work to get people’s attention. Growing up in Bloor West Village, Toronto she was the April to many a Ninja Turtles skits in Kindergarten. She quickly realized performing was a way of harnessing the ‘positive attention’ her parents so desperately wanted to give her. She made her TV debut as a Dancing Angel on an extremely memorable Rogers Cable TV Christmas special, and began taking acting classes at age nine. Although she tried to kick soccer balls, attempted to hit baseballs and *shudder* ballet pirouettes, acting was the one thing that stuck. In high school at Humberside CI she formed the first ever Drama club and directed a completely improvised satire portraying her teachers and fellow students.
To this day she willingly gives up popularity for humor at the sake of herself and others.

Aidan has a B.F.A. Specializing in Theatre Performance from Concordia University. She conquered many productions during this time, including ‘Our Country’s Good’, ‘Haiku’, ‘At the Crossroads’ and ‘Crave’. Her one regret was never learning how to do a cartwheel.

In Toronto, Aidan has trained at the Pro Actors Lab, Equity Showcase Theatre, Bad Dog Theatre and is currently in the Conservatory program at the Second City Training Centre. She has done a Midwest US tour with Mad Science and at home she has performed in shows such as ‘Lick Her’, ‘Ginger’ (Winner of 2008 InspiraTO People’s Choice Award) and ‘A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant and a Prayer’ at the Toronto Fringe Festival.

Aidan would like to thank her parents for being the most amazing, supportive and understanding people in the world, her posse and true friend fan club, Kruh for running her website all the way from Slovenia, the CiS cast and of course Matt, for this wonderful opportunity.
