Customizable, Interactive, Live Entertainment

Since 1997 the Canadian Improv Showcase has been offering top quality entertainment. Their showcase is often imitated but never duplicated as no other group has their combination of talent, skill and discipline.

The Canadian Improv Showcase utilizes short-form improvisation as their way of keeping the audience in stitches. That is to say that their shows are made up of short scenes, all of which have a format or guideline of some sort. There is no script for the actors to fall back on, they must use their wit, skill and experience to see them through their scenes.

From there the sky is the limit and who knows what might happen as the show is guided by audience interaction and suggestions. During the show the host asks for a variety of things and those pieces of information make every show completely different. There are even times when volunteers join the cast on stage and help in creating the hilarity. At this point it should be mentioned that it is company policy not to humiliate, pick on or single out any audience member - it is simply not their style.

It should also be mentioned that the Canadian Improv Showcase is the only professional touring improv troupe that boasts the ability to perform for any audience. No other group can perform equally as effective in front of an adult audience, a corporate audience, a children's audience or anything in between. That is why they are called Canada's Premier Improv Company!

A typical show runs sixty to ninety minutes in length but that, like most aspects of the show, is customizable. With their being no script the level of customization is like no other. If you have a particular theme in mind let them know and they will incorporate it as much as possible.

As far as staging is concerned, the Canadian Improv Showcase needs simply a small clear space and an attentive audience. An actual stage is nice, but don't let that aspect deter you from contacting the group as they have played on every size and style of stage imaginable: big and small!

If you would like to inquire about pricing, please contact the group's producer Matthew R. Lawrence. You can do so by clicking on the contact us page and following the information there. A couple of things to keep in mind when making contact that will make the process quick and painless would be the date of the proposed event, the location, time of day and the audience size.
