Shauna
Wiley was born in Hamilton Ontario, even though she has resided in the
little-known town of Welland all her life. When she was just a newborn,
she most likely inhaled too many of the harmful fumes that Hamilton
is always pumping into the air, which explains her crazy and deranged
sense of humour. However, her love for comedy, and realization that
she had a sense of humour did not begin developing until she reached
High School. She attended Notre Dame College School in Welland, and
took dramatic arts courses just to try it out. It was here that she
discovered her talent for acting and script writing. She began acting
in school productions that were written by the senior students, and
she soon learned that she belonged onstage. Throughout high school,
she wrote, directed, and starred in numerous original plays, and knew
that she would never find anything else in the world that she loved
as much as performing.
After High School, Shauna
attended Sheridan College in Oakville, where she studied Performing
Arts. For the end of the year performance, she decided that she would
like to put on a sketch comedy show. Using shows such as “Mad
TV” and “SNL” as inspiration, Shauna and a group of
students wrote, directed and put on a sketch comedy show called “White
Collar Comedy”. It ended up being a very successful show, and
was given great feedback. Shauna believes that there is no better feedback
than to hear the audience laughing, because that is her ultimate goal,
to make people laugh.
She would like to thank her
friends and family for allowing her the freedom to pursue her dreams,
and for believing in her.
