The Canadian Improv Showcase is Canada's premiere professional touring comedy group. They have been performing publicly for audiences all over the world since 1997. During that time they have been showcased over 800 times. That is an amazing accomplishment when you consider they do not have a home theatre to perform at whenever they choose. Their bookings come mostly from word-of-mouth and they have never had a bad show. They have represented Canadian comedy on the international stage many times with great success.
The group utilizes the tried, tested and true format of short-form or game style improvisation. Everything is made up on the spot and guided by audience participation. But don't worry! They do not pick on their audience. It is just not their style. One of the greatest assets to the fact they perform improvisational comedy over say stand-up is that they can adapt as the show goes on. They are not limited by a script which may or may not resonate with the audience.
The Canadian Improv Showcase employs only professional actors which gives them a competitive edge. Not only that but their chemistry is second to none. With twelve performers in the cast (they utilize 4 to 6 per performance usually) and their vast list of handles or games, you will never see the same show twice - especially when you factor in the level of interaction they employ.
